Engagement Photography at Stowe Landscaped Gardens
The wonderful Stowe Landscaped Gardens provided the stunning backdrop for Sunny and Matt’s pre-wedding shoot. Although Sunny and Matt, live locally in Brackley, their wedding will be celebrated in Norway. Sunny (Solveig) is native to the Country, so for the couple it seemed fitting to hold the wedding back in Solveig’s birth place.
I met the couple at a wedding fayre in Oxfordshire at the end of March. The couple entered a competition that I had running on the day. The prize was an engagement shoot, now more often called a pre wedding shoot. Needless to say the couple were first out of the draw. When I emailed Sunny delivering the good news that they’d won, Sunny sent me a facebook message which read “Matthew and I are over the moon about this and cannot believe our luck!”.
Exclusive Engagement or Pre Wedding Photography
As a local Buckinghamshire and Northamptonshire Wedding Photographer, I offer an exclusive shoot for engagement, or pre wedding photography. Read more about the exclusive, romantic photography session here.
When you book one of these exclusive shoots, I apply to the National Trust at Stowe for an all exclusive photography license. The shoot includes 4 one day passes to spend the whole day at the National Trust site. An exclusive 1-2hr shoot which, will be outside of public entry. A golf buggy to get us around the 125 acre gardens, There is also afternoon tea, which can be taken at any time of the day. Your order is for a clotted cream tea for two, for you to partake, after I have left you to enjoy the rest of your day. You are welcome to stay the whole day after our shoot is completed.
What to expect from the day
We scheduled the pre wedding photography for the end of July. The weather was amazing, which always helps when carrying out a photography location shoot. Our meeting place was at the visitor centre of Stowe Gardens. During this exclusive engagement shoot I managed to learn more about the couple and their dreams for their wedding day. It’s the perfect time to learn as much as possible about the couple, as a couple and who they are individually. It’s also a perfect time for the couple to find out more about me, and hopefully relax in my company. It’s not imperative to have a pre wedding session, but it is a really helpful preparation for the wedding day itself.
As the day progressed, we travelled around the stunning National Trust site, taking in it’s stunning scenery. We stopped at areas of interest, or buildings that the couple fell in love with, and wanted their photos to include. We also managed to fit in a couple of costume changes along the way. The pace was relaxed, and slow paced, enough to thoroughly enjoy what Stowe has to offer, and to capture some really memorable photographs.
Stowe School and Gardens is a beautiful venue, steeped in history. I’ve had the pleasure of living only 3 miles from Stowe School since I was born, and long before the days that it became a National Trust site. The located in the Buckinghamshire countryside. Sunny and Matt left Stowe with some very happy memories, and some beautiful photographs to remind them of their day.
